SLAVE: According to the Oxford dictionary, a slave is a person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them.
A Slave is one who has been bound by an authority. Visible or invisible. Into a life of doing as that authority commands.
A slave has no say. A slave has no voice. A slave is held captive with no way of escape.
Now, who is a slave to sin?
A slave to sin is one conformed to ways of sin. A person that is held captive by sin. Sin is the source the provider of sin is the devil. So whoever is held captive by sin automatically is held captive by the devil.
In Matthew 6:24; According to the King James translation: “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon”
In the beginning, God created man. God is pure and Holy and so was man because God was the creator. But then man became impure. The reason is man fell into the hands of the devil by committing sin. His first sin was disobedience. Man ate the fruit of which God had commanded he should not eat. As a result of this, man’s eyes became opened. Knowing evil and good. He then realized he was naked. When at first he had no clue. This is because he was pure. Just as a baby is without blemish, without any evil thoughts man was like a baby. But that was no more when he fell into sin.
Since then, man has been a slave to sin. And seeing as we all are offspring of Adam we are also slaves to sin. But hey! There’s a remedy; Jesus Christ. You see, God has a son. His name is Jesus. Jesus Christ is the one and only son of God. He sent his son to die for us because he loves us and wants us to be free from sin. To be free from the devil. In John 3: 16. In the King James Version. It says; “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”
Without the death of this man, we all will be condemned to an eternity in Hell.
So as Paul says in Galatians 5:1 (NIV) “it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery”
Jesus Christ is the only one who can set us free so instead of being a slave to sin why not be a slave to Christ. Jesus is the best way.
So confess your sins, believe Jesus is the only son of God and that he died and rose from the grave on the third day. Believe that he is the only one who can save and then accept him into your heart as your personal lord and savior.
Let Jesus be your anchor, let him be your pillar.
