What’s the New Year about? Is it new goals, new resolutions or a better way to enjoy life?
As you all know, I’m a Christian. And most stuff I write about isn’t meaningless. It’s usually something to think about, something life-changing. But right now, I’m going to put that aside and just write.
So here goes…..
As the years have flown by, I’ve gotten wiser, smarter and more knowledgeable. I’ve gotten tired of all these New Year’s resolutions. Don’t get me wrong, they are good. For just a day though, and that’s the 1st day of the New Year.
The thing is or the truth is people make new year resolutions every New Year and end up accomplishing nothing. Now it’s not like they can’t accomplish their resolutions, it’s just that they aren’t dedicated or disciplined about it.
A popular actress said something that made sense, I’ll try and put down as much as I can but I’m not saying what she said word for word. She said “if we want to accomplish our goals, writing it out and placing them on places we will always see them, daily, maybe like our bedroom doors, or wall. It’ll be a reminder to us to keep on working on such goals. But if we just write them down and dump them somewhere, we will get nowhere”
This was said by Mrs. Adesuwa Etomi Wellington. And when I heard it, I was like, yeah, absolute fact. So this year, I have no resolutions. I have things to complete though. Writing them down and placing them where I can always see them is my first step of accomplishment, working hard and being disciplined towards these goals is another step and then working on a goal at a time is another.
Now, I know why I said working at a goal at a time. The reason is, when you have about five to ten goals, you can’t really accomplish all at a stretch now, can you? It’ll be a bit hard or very hard sef. So I think it’s better to pick a goal at a time.
But hey, I might be wrong. If you have a better idea, write down in the comment section below, I’m ready to know more. We all want to be better, maybe that should be our first goal.
Happy 2020 guys.
